Please email melissa@dawnrisingwellness.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.
Absolutely! I understand how important it is that you find the right fit. We can set up a 15 minute phone or video call to review what’s bringing you in, your goals for therapy, and any questions you may have. Please note, I generally believe it can take 3 sessions to build a strong rapport and develop our treatment approach together.
I offer virtual sessions for clients located in any part of Tennessee. Telehealth is a secure and convenient option that many clients find effective.
I work with individuals and couples, generally 18 years and older, drawing from a blend of approaches based on your unique needs. I’m trained in the Gottman Method for couples. I also use trauma-informed, emotion-focused, and integrative health strategies that support lasting change for those who are committed to the process.
Individual 60-min Intake: $197
Individual 55-minute session: $167
Couples 90-min Intake: $297
Couples 75-minute session: $247
*Sessions are typically 55 minutes for individuals and 75 minutes for couples. After we have established care, we can discuss alternative session lengths to meet your needs.
That depends on your goals and circumstances. Most clients start with weekly sessions, then adjust frequency over time as progress is made. For couples, or highly motivated individuals, intensives may be discussed to support gaining a strong therapeutic alliance and meeting goals quicker.
I tailor my approach to meet the needs of each unique couple. With this said, you can expect to participate in a joint intake session, followed by individual sessions, during which time we will review the history of your relationship as well as your individual backgrounds. Usually, the second joint session is spent sharing feedback and agreeing on goals.
It is optional, but highly recommended, that after our intake, each partner completes the Gottman Relationship Questionnaire, which is a research-backed and effective tool for our work together.
I DO offer intensives, for highly motivated couples, and/or those whose needs and schedules allow. Feel free to ask me about this option! It can be a wonderful way to jumpstart your progress.
Overall, I want you to know that I will do my best to provide an engaging and comfortable environment for you both to bring your most delicate concerns.
And for those completely unsure if you can, or want to, rebuild your intimate partner relationship, I am here to support you in discerning your next steps with honesty and respect.
The intake session actually starts with me reviewing the history you have provided in your paperwork. It is called an "intake" because it is our first full length session where we can get to know one another and gather clarity on what your therapeutic journey will look like. You are welcome to bring any questions you may have, or you can let me lead our discussion. We will go over policies and scheduling to ensure alignment. My hope is that you will feel truly seen, and gain confidence in working with me.
In the rare case that either of us determine you would benefit from resources outside of my scope, I will provide you with recommendations customized to you.
I do not contract with any insurances. Invoices for services will be rendered on the day of service through the client's secure payment portal.
I ask for at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule a session (or 72 hours for an intensive.) Late cancellations or no-shows may be subject to a fee.
Yes—confidentiality is a core part of our work. There are a few legal exceptions (like risk of harm to yourself or others), which we’ll review in your intake paperwork.
Couples, please inquire about my "no secrets" policy.
You can contact me through the contact form to schedule a free 15-minute consultation or book your first session. I’d be happy to answer any additional questions you have.
